In 2013, Brian was helping run the hiring medical testing at a local Paramedic service. He met Josh, who was transferring from another Paramedic service. Josh impressed the hiring team, blowing though the testing process.
Josh and Brian forged both a friendship and a professional relationship, working together in the same Paramedic service for years. They became especially close after attending the National Paramedic Competition (yes - it's a real thing!) together in 2017, 2018, and 2019 and won multiple Top 3 podium finishes.
In 2019, Josh and Brian sat down to talk and found out they had both been contemplating starting a Paramedic-based education company! They launched Para-Mentors a few months later.
Years of training paramedics and helping Paramedic services with their education and recruitment needs led Para-Mentors to become a huge part of the Ontario Paramedic industry.
During the Covid-19 Pandemic, they recognized that everyday people trained in first aid & CPR can and do make a powerful life saving difference in medical emergencies.
They also found that being untrained or improperly trained does the exact opposite, and so, they set out to address this need and make a difference in the community.
They decided to branch off their success in the Paramedic field, and expand to launch a CPR and First Aid training under the banner of Para CPR & First Aid.
